Terms of use

In effect from 1 October 2026

These terms govern your use of KAAM at kaam.uk. They apply whether you are posting a job, responding to one, or just reading. If you take work through KAAM, the professional terms apply as well.

Draft. The registered company details and ICO registration on these pages are still to be filled in, and the set should be read by a solicitor before launch.

1. Who we are

KAAM is operated by Deshwal & Co, registered in England (company number [to confirm]), at [to confirm]. The same company operates Saral. You can reach us at hello@kaam.uk.

2. What KAAM is, and what it is not

KAAM is a place where someone who needs work done describes it, and professionals who can do it respond with a price. The agreement for the work itself is between you and the other person, not with us. We are not a party to it, we do not carry it out, we do not supervise it, and we do not employ or subcontract the professionals who use KAAM.

We also never handle the money for the work. You agree a price and you settle it between yourselves. KAAM charges its own subscription and takes no share of what you agree - see pricing.

What we do is our own responsibility: running the service, checking the evidence professionals give us (see what verified means), keeping your data properly, and acting on what is reported to us.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or over to hold an account, and the details you give us must be true. Keep your sign-in to yourself; if you think someone else has it, change it and tell us. You are responsible for what is done through your account, and where you act for a business you confirm you are entitled to do so.

Two-step verification is available on every account and we recommend it. Some actions - confirming an award, changing billing - ask you to prove it is you again, even mid-session.

4. Posting a job

Describe the work honestly and completely, including anything that makes it harder than it looks. A price someone gives you is a price for what you described; what you leave out is what the argument will be about later.

Photos help. Anything you upload is rebuilt by your own browser before it is sent - straightened, compressed, and stripped of the hidden data a camera writes into a photo, including the location it was taken. Your photos are visible to the professionals who can see the job, and to nobody else.

Free accounts may keep a limited number of jobs live at once; the current limits are on the pricing page and are enforced by the system, not by us case by case.

5. Responses and awarding

A response is an offer to do the described work at a stated price. It is open for acceptance until it is withdrawn or the job closes. Accepting one forms an agreement between the two of you on those terms.

Responses are confidential between the professional who made it and the person who posted the job. No professional is shown another professional’s price, and we do not use one response to coach another. This is enforced in the database itself, not by policy alone.

6. Cancelling, and the work going wrong

Either side may cancel before work starts; do it in KAAM so the other side is told and the record is straight. Once work has started, what happens is between the two of you under whatever you agreed.

If the work is faulty or unfinished, your rights are against the professional who did it, and as a consumer those rights come from the Consumer Rights Act 2015 - they are not affected by anything in these terms. Tell us too: repeated complaints change who KAAM will keep on the platform. See safety and reporting.

7. What you may not do

The rules on content and conduct are set out in the acceptable use policy, and they form part of these terms. In short: nothing illegal, nothing about someone else that is not yours to share, no pretending to be someone you are not, no scraping, and no using KAAM to build a competing list of its members.

8. Content you put on KAAM

What you write and upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people who are meant to see it - the professionals matched to your job, the household whose job you are quoting for, and KAAM staff where a report or a dispute makes that necessary. That permission lasts as long as we hold the content and no longer.

You confirm that what you upload is yours to upload. Photographs of a property or of a person you do not have permission to share should not be here.

9. Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that presents a risk to someone, or where we are required to. Except where it would be unsafe or unlawful to do so, we tell you why and you can put your side to complaints@kaam.uk.

You can close your own account at any time. Closing it does not cancel a paid plan - do that separately, in billing.

10. What we are responsible for

We are responsible for running KAAM with reasonable care and skill, and for our own failures. We are not responsible for the quality, timing or safety of work that a professional does for you, or for what another user of KAAM says or does - those are theirs.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected. Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, our liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for loss of profit or business.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes are announced by email to affected accounts at least 30 days before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page always says which version is in force. If you do not accept a change, close your account before it takes effect.

12. Law, and where a dispute goes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.

Before that: tell us. Complaints go to complaints@kaam.uk, we acknowledge within two working days and answer within ten.
